In 2015, KATAPULT SPORTS became the exclusive marketing agency of EA SPORTS in Spain. Ever since, we have built a successful partnership that lasts until today.
Nowadays, we help EA SPORTS with their marketing and content strategy in Spain, but also with their LaLiga sponsorship activations. We also work with the communication and content creation for their esports competitive program, eLaLiga.
On a community level, KATAPULT SPORTS runs the most successful amateur videogame competition in Spain, by number of users. Over 40,000 registered players participate in VFO with the 11vs11 mode of EA SPORTS FIFA.
Since 2007 we have been a non-exclusive agency of FC BARCELONA. Over the years, we have worked with them on a variety of projects, ranging from strategic marketing actions to sponsorship deals.
In 2007, we were pioneers in taking the first team to a preseason tour in Asia, in Japan. This lead us to open a successful business line within the club that still stands today: football camps and Academies. Indeed, our Barça Academy in Fukuoka (Japan) was the second ever to be opened outside Barcelona.
In 2017, we were pioneers again opening up a new business line for Barça: the residential academies. We closed a partnership between Grande Sports Academy and Barça to open the first ever residential academy of Barça outside Barcelona, in Phoenix AZ (USA).
Philips is, probably, the most paradigmatic case of how we work in KATAPULT. We became their exclusive marketing agency in 2016 with the request to help elevate the brand profile. We did this through a strategy within the entertainment industry.
From KATAPULT SPORTS, we helped Philips close the sponsorship deal with Atlético de Madrid, as part of the lighting agreement for their new stadium.
In gaming, we created several co-marketing strategies with ELECTRONIC ARTS to showcase their cutting edge technology, Philips Hue, among the gamer community. In parallel, we created the Philips Hue eSports team to compete in VFO. The presence in the competition among some of the football clubs of LaLiga opened commercial opportunities for Philips Lighting with the clubs.
Through our business line with theatres, we closed the naming rights for one of the main theatres in Madrid, the Theatre Gran Vía.
We then used all these assets to create premium content for all social media channels, thus integrating the brand into people’s lives in a natural, non-intrusive way.
